Ape Concept Progress.

So me and sandy have decided to just do some shorts keeping the overall concept of our series in mind, and then string em together... Just something to get this thing started so it doesn't get stagnant in our minds.... I started to board one short idea based off a few characters and made one storyboard panel based on one of my thumbnails... Here is a sketch of the two characters.. Not fully designed or realized in anyway... just quick sketches for myself. So yeah, please "excuse" the shitty sketches...

One on the top is the one on the bottoms grandfather. They are basically the most pre human ape out of the past era of our concept... there are many different cavemen species... these are just the most human at the time.., I'm picturing them to have a very hobbit vibe to their design possibly the origin of the dwarf mythology we have today... (There is a lot of story to this concept, we've been fleshing it out like crazy, just getting a feeling of where we're going. ) Anyways... When I finish them I'll post em up. They'll be a lot more cartoony when I design them. Here are the thumbnails for the storyboard. This is only the first page. There is way more to thumbnail out.......

And here is the first story board panel realized... It's basically a location study.. I'm going to make a real story board panel soon with the character sitting in a better location. I want them all to be done in water color so that the BG artist has something to go off of, or at least a general idea of what I'm looking for... and eh... since I'm the BG artist... I might forget, so here it is in storyboard water color form to remind me. :P
